Dahabiya Cruise: Luxor to Aswan

Day 1

  • We’ll pick you up from the hotel in Luxor , and drive you straight toward Esna where the Dahabiya is mooring . – There at Esna we’ll be able to visit the most colored temple of god Khnum , listening to the story of the temple while you are enjoying the beautiful color of the columns and ceiling. – Then we’ll back to the Dahabiya to start our cruise… – at the same day around 3:30 pm we’ll take you to explore the bank of the Nile while we’re walking to the nobles tombs of Elkab, we’ll be able to visit 4 tombs , and then back to the boat for sailing a little far from the village to overnight in quite spot.

Day 2

  • While you are enjoying your breakfast the Dahabiya will start to move forward. One and a half hours of sailing will be enough to reach Edfu. – At Edfu we’ll take you by horse carriage to visit the most well preserved temple in Egypt ( Horus temple ) . – After the visit we’ll sail forward to the sandstone quarry ( El Silsila) – We’ll arrive at sunset time so it will be too late to visit the quarry , so we’ll overnight before the spectacular light system of the chapels and the little temple of (Hormoheb).

Day 3

  • In the morning after breakfast we’ll guide you at this amazing quarry which still has a lot of Chapels, some are colored,you’ll see the chisel marks of the ancient workers.
  • After the quarry we’ll move on our way heading to the double temple of Kom Ombo, which is the only temple all over Egypt built for worshiping two different gods (Horus & Sobek ).
  • Then we’ll go back to the boat to move away from the noise of the city and take you to a much quieter spot for overnight.

Day 4

  • After breakfast we’ll take a traditional car to drive us to the biggest camel market in upper Egypt (Daraw camel market) , you will be able to experience the market atmosphere once you see the dealers and the traders are negotiating about the prices and how interesting to be at the market surrounding by camels and dealers everywhere group of them negotiate.
  • We ‘ll take you to experience the normal market of local production food and vegetables , sitting at a coffee shop to watch the everyday life of the locals . – Then we will be back to the boat for lunch and moving on forward to the Nubian village (elkopanya) , you’ll be able to walk in this little village and see the Nubian houses . – We’ll be back to the boat to enjoy sailing until sunset time , when we reach Aswan bridge this will be the last spot in our cruise. – We’ll moor just right after the bridge.

Day 5

  • In the morning I will check out from the Dahabiya and the car will pick you up and drive to your hotel in Aswan.
