About This Tour
Two days that cover the far south of Egypt: first the sites of Aswan itself, then the great temples of Abu Simbel on the shore of Lake Nasser.
Day one belongs to Aswan. You reach the Temple of Philae by motor boat, see the High Dam that changed the course of the Nile, and stand in the ancient granite quarry where the Unfinished Obelisk still lies in the rock.
Day two is the trip to Abu Simbel by bus, with an early start. The two temples that Ramses II carved into the rock, one for himself and one for Queen Nefertari, are worth every hour of the drive.
