About This Tour
A different way to travel through Egypt. This ten-day tour focuses on sites that hold spiritual, esoteric or mythological significance, many of them off the standard tourist trail.
Hermopolis (city of Thoth), Tuna el-Gebel, the Bent and Red Pyramids of Dahshur, the Pyramid of Unas with the first pyramid texts, the Serapeum, the Temple of Seti I at Abydos with the mysterious Osirion, the Temple of Hathor at Dendera with the original Zodiac, Karnak, the chapels of Sekhmet and the precinct of Mut, the Temple of Auset (Isis) at Philae and the Temple of Khnum on Elephantine Island.
Land transfers throughout the route, only the return leg from Aswan to Cairo on the last day is by plane and is included. The pace stays gentle to allow for reflection at each site.

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
Pickup at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner.
Day 2
Giza Plateau
Pyramids, Valley Temple, Sphinx. Visit to a famous essential oil store.
Day 3
Saqqara, Pyramid of Unas and Serapeum
Saqqara complex, Pyramid of Unas with the first pyramid texts, the Serapeum.
Day 4
Dahshur, Bent and Red Pyramids
Bent and Red Pyramids. Check-in at Mena House.
Day 5
El Minya, Bani Hassan and Amarna
Drive south. Bani Hassan tombs and the ancient capital of Akhenaten at Amarna.
Day 6
Hermopolis, Tuna el-Gebel and Abydos
Hermopolis (Thoth), the catacombs of Tuna el-Gebel, drive to Abydos.
Day 7
Abydos, Seti I Temple and the Osirion
Temple of Seti I with its nine sanctuaries, the Osirion. Drive to Luxor.
Day 8
Dendera, Temple of Hathor
Dendera, the famous Zodiac, the colourful interior.
Day 9
Karnak with Sekhmet and Mut precincts
Karnak with the rarely visited Chapel of Sekhmet and the precinct of Mut.
Day 10
Luxor West Bank, Aswan and Departure
Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, Habu temple. Drive to Aswan, Philae and Elephantine. Fly back to Cairo, departure.
