About This Tour

Nine days that bring the great highlights of Egypt together in one journey: the Pyramids of Giza and Saqqara in Cairo, the temples of Abu Simbel, the city of Aswan, the temples along the Nile at Kom Ombo, Esna and Edfu, both banks of Luxor, and finally Dendera and Abydos.

You travel privately with your own Egyptologist guide. All transport is included, the domestic flights from Cairo to Aswan and back from Luxor to Cairo as well as every transfer on the ground. Every site is explained in depth, at your own pace and far from the rush of the large groups.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Cairo, Pyramids and Saqqara

Morning pickup from your hotel. We visit the Great Pyramid of Cheops and the panorama of the Giza plateau with the Sphinx, then the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the nobles' tombs of Saqqara.

Day 2

Cairo, Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo

A second day in Cairo, then the flight to Aswan.

Day 3

Aswan

The temple of Philae reached by motor boat, the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarry.

Day 4

Abu Simbel

The great temple of Ramses II with its four colossal seated statues and the smaller temple of Queen Nefertari, on the shore of Lake Nasser.

Day 5

Kom Ombo, Esna and Edfu

The double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horus, the temple of Khnum at Esna, and the temple of Horus at Edfu, one of the best preserved in Egypt.

Day 6

Luxor West Bank

Valley of the Kings with three royal tombs, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, the workers' tombs of Deir el-Medina, and the Valley of the Queens with the tomb of Nefertari.

Day 7

Luxor East Bank

Karnak, the largest temple complex in Egypt, and Luxor Temple with the Avenue of Sphinxes.

Days 8 to 9

Dendera, Abydos and the flight back

The temple of Abydos, built by Seti I and his son Ramses II, the heartbeat of ancient Egyptian carving, and the beautifully preserved temple of Dendera near Qena. Afterwards the flight from Luxor back to Cairo.
